EXPERIENCES

Future City is an educational engineering experience that spans over a few months. Last year, STEAM Chasers researched sustainable materials and designs to use as they built their model of their future city. The competiion involved travel to our state's capitol, Raleigh, where they competed with other middle schools by way of a showcase and presentation. 

The Charlotte Hornets hosted a STEM Day for Middle School Students at the Spectrum Center. We were able to engage with different companies and orgainzations in the STEM field along with access to an arena and a behind the scenes tour.

STEAM Chasers had the wonderful opportunity to dive into the rich tapestry of digital collaging during the Visual Echoes  workshop. Through the  discovery, creativity, and connection  we learned the basics of Adobe Photoshop to create a digital collage celebrating our collective history. During this workshop, participants explored the art of mixed media collage and photo-manipulation using digital tools and techniques weaving moments, places and cherished stories into a tapestry of shared remembrance.

Fall STEAM EXPO 2023 was a kick off to the Bank of America Roval 400 race weekend in Charlotte, NC!  We engaged in hands on STEAM demonstrations, driver meet & greets, giveaways and more!  We were able to listen to speakers  highlight career opportunities in STEAM.

Our founder's Alma mater North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University delivered their Innovation Station mobile maker space of Cooperative Extension to our campus and brought 3D Modeling to our Cohort scholars. AGGIE Pride!

Betabox Lab Experiences brought hands-on learning to our campus in the form of a mobile tech lab. We were exposed to innovative technologies such as robotics, 3D Printing, and drone operation.
